The Ashwagandha Advantage

The Ashwagandha Advantage

Ashwagandha has been the King of Ayurvedic (Indian) Herbalism for thousands of years. Now it is becoming more and more popular in modern herbalism. Barlowe’s Herbal Elixirs sells KSM-66 Ashwagandha Extract which is considered to be the world’s best Ashwagandha; and though Ashwagandha suffers somewhat from Low Bio-Availability, Barlowe’s adds piperine (black pepper extract) to their product to great improve Bio-Availability. Ashwagandha is used in Ayurveda as a “Rasayana”, or adaptogen – fighting stress and improving life balance. Generally, Ayurveda is a complex holistic approach to restoring balance in a person that includes physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual elements.

Numerous randomized, double-blind, placebo controlled human clinical trials have demonstrated the profound health benefits of KSM-66 Ashwagandha – the type sold by Barlowe’s. These studies have shown that KSM-66 Ashwagandha promotes a healthy response to everyday stress, over-work, and fatigue; that it helps support higher levels of vigor and performance; that it may increase mental clarity, concentration, and alertness; and that it enhances performance in sports and other strenuous activities.

KSM-66 Ashwagandha is the most clinically studied Ashwagandha on the market with many gold standard clinical trials on humans. Since stress is such a problem in our society, many of these studies addressed both objective and subjective effects of stress: feelings of stress and anxiety as well as levels of cortisol (elevated cortisol levels are associated with chronic stress). These studies demonstrated a 27.9% average reduction in serum cortisol levels after eight weeks of ashwagandha supplementation. 69% of test subjects reported that their stress levels and insomnia decreased after sixty days of use. Finally, this product is certified organic, non-gmo, gluten-free, and is both kosher and halal. Barlowe’s encapsulates and bottles the ashwagandha in his state of the art facility, adding nothing but black pepper extract  (piperine) to increase bio-availability. No stearates or silicates are utilized in the production process.
